Faux Taxidermy are you in or out?
Heres a taster of one of my favourite faux taxidermy artists around today, still amazingly creative and beautiful to display, but which do you prefer?
Donya Coward...
Is an artist based in Nottingham, England.
All of Donya's works are inspired by the victorian era all of which are made with antique, vintage Nottingham laces, victorian embroideries and fabrics. Due to the rarity of such materials each piece is one of a kind and unique in every way.
'It is important to up-cycle and preserve the craftsmanship and skills of days gone and give them a new identity.' www.donyacoward.co.uk
Inspiration for all Donya's wall mounted dog heads, sculptures, birds, wall mounted animal heads and banners are all taken from her visits to curiosity museums, research into Elizabethan paintings and exploring masked festivals from around the world are just a few to mention.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Banners...
'The Cock and Bull story is the first in a series of large scale iconizing the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. This series is influenced by Catholic imagery, especially their use of monochrome , during Lent Catholic churches replace their coloured banners so that it is befitting of the mood and doesn’t ‘excite’ its parishioners. Staffordshire Bull Terriers are a status dog and becoming more common in our cities, yet they are feared more than praised.'
